A Thoughtful Yet Uplifting New Track From Koder With 'Ancestors'

Koder is a really exciting British artist who delves right into the Complexities of race and cultural divides lyrically and visually in his new track 'Ancestors' featuring Tempo and produced by BlameBlame. Koder's new music video was filmed in his own community of Brockley, Lewisham and it portrays his day to day life and features six generation of family and friends. It's colourful, insightful and poignant.
Thoughtful and clever wordplay is layered over an unashamed groove and a catchy sample of the 1978 'Love Changes' by Mother's Finest. 'Ancestors' can be appreciated on a commercial level but also maintains a street aesthetic. It's about community, family and self-discovery and you can't help but smile at the verbose rhymes and colourful imagery.
'Ancestors' was released at the end of Black History Month’s 30th anniversary which was a conscious decision as Koder highlights the legacy of black culture in his very personal, very intimate new project. It's a celebration of life and will surely propel Koder to new heights.
Koder plans to release an album in spring 2018, one which will explore the complexities of sacrifice, self-sabotage, and success via his usual honest lyrics and varied sound palette. In the meantime Koder is set to perform at New Zealand festival, Northern Bass alongside Stormzy, Nadia Rose and Post Malone this month.
