Haven Home Lock: The idea to change home security

Unfortunately, 1 in 36 homes is invaded every year, making that around 2 million households in the United States alone. Millions of dollars worth of property are lost in the process in addition to the stress and trauma involved when a person’s personal space is invaded, property lost and the risk it exposes to loved ones. Added security, therefore, becomes essential, and there is a wide array of defensive products on the market that provide this security boast for homes and businesses. But as the products become more sophisticated, so do the burglars to counter the measures in place, and eventually, break in and cause untold damage.

Haven Home Lock

One product has found a way to counter burglary through preventive actions. It does this by discouraging the thief from carrying out the action. This has been achieved through technology and in a smart way. In standard Door security measures, a lot of emphases are put on the deadbolt, and it is thought that it is the strongest part of a door. Haven has found that to be the exact opposite. The deadbolt is actually the weakest link in a door! Burglars focus on the deadbolt and have come up with effective ways to break it. The Haven door lock concentrates its security measures at the base of the door, instead of the door frame, and provides a strong anchor on the inside floor of the house. It comes in two varieties; a custom VHB tape designed by 3M or anchored by lag bolt options.

How Haven Home Lock Works

When installed, Haven Home Lock fortifies the base of the door like a wedge and can withstand constant kicking, lock bumping and any trickery implemented by the unwanted guests. It is made of Aluminium, steel and glass reinforced nylon. This makes the position of the deadbolt irrelevant because even in the event it gives in, the base of the door secured by Haven will not.

Technological Capabilities

The Haven lock can detect excessive force on the door and is equipped with WIFI and Bluetooth capabilities that in turn send a message to the homeowners’ mobile phone, equipped with the Haven application. Sharing capabilities are also present, where family and friends can be allowed access. Notifications have also been factored into this home, securing technology.

In the Haven 360 option, sensors are connected to windows, doors, and valuables, and incorporated back to the Haven base lock. In the event of a breach, the homeowner gets a notification on their mobile phone wherever they are. The Haven app can also be in sync with a broad range of gadgets to make life simpler.

There is also the keyless entry lock, like the one used in vehicles, and in this option, a phone is not necessary. The homeowner is provided with a fob that senses ones’ approach to the equipped door, so that it opens on approach, and locks once one is past it.

A wide range of experts were consulted and actively involved in the development of Haven home lock, to make it safe and convenient at the same time.
