10 things you didn’t know about the Tesla Model X

Tesla has quickly emerged as a formidable force in car manufacture. What sets this car manufacturer apart is that it tries to be different. Tesla created the fastest electric car. But with the Tesla Model X, it’s a practical and workable vehicle with nifty accessories that all car lovers will appreciate. Here are ten things you probably didn’t know about this latest model from Tesla Motors owned by Elon Musk.

1. Constant Air Updates

The Tesla is quite sophisticated with features that the owner will come to discover way after purchasing the car. And its features can still be updated even after purchase due to its capability to receive air updates from the manufacturer. For example, the collision avoidance and automatic breaking features were to be sent over the air this month.

2. Spacious 7-seater with front and back trunks

Tesla X has plenty of space, though it may not look like it from the outside. This model is a seven-seater with the seats arranged in 3 rows.  All seven passengers seat comfortably with enough space to carry gear as well. And if the third-row seats are not in use, they can fold and create more space for more storage. That is not factoring in that the Tesla X has both a front and back trunk for even more storage.

3. Trunk lever under the bumper and inside the trunk itself

On the front bumper, Tesla X has been fitted with a lever which opens up the hood. This feature is to give firefighters and emergency crews quick access to the power of the vehicle, in case a situation where a rescue is necessary inside the vehicle. This feature also means that anybody can open the hood of the Tesla X from the outside, which is also to the advantage of thieves.

4. Added compartment under the  bumper

The Tesla Model X has an added compartment under the bumper as a storage place for sensitive things like wallets and purses as they admit the trunk may not be secure enough.

5. Quick acceleration

Magnetic cars do not have the reputation of being fast cars. But the Tesla X can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds. This is extremely fast for an SUV or an electric car.

6. An advanced autonomic system

Tesla Model X is also equipped with self-drive hardware that can help the vehicle attain autonomy, with all the safety features also incorporated.

7. The battery is floor-mounted

The Tesla Model X is built for safety first. Therefore the battery is floor-mounted to lower the center of gravity and result into fewer rollovers.

8. No Engine in the front or back

The Tesla X does not have a gasoline engine in the front trunk. This means that in the case of a crash, the front serves the purpose of absorbing the impact.

9. Highly functional and practical Falcon doors

The falcon wing doors allow the Tesla Model X to be parked in tight spots and only need 12 inches of space to open, allowing passengers to enter from both rear and front directions.

10. Large storage battery

The 100 Kilowatt battery enables the Tesla X to do a range of 289 miles on a single charge.

Bonus point of the Tesla Model X

A medical grade fitted filter ensures the car is free from pollen, bacteria, viruses and any form of pollution before air from outside circulates into the car. And it comes in three models; flow with outside air, recirculation inside air and a bio-weapon defense mode that creates positive pressure inside the cabin to protect the occupants.
