Anti-Trump Delegates Say They Will Force Roll Call Vote on Rules

The band of Republican delegates mounting a last-ditch effort to snatch the nomination away from Trump is claiming a last-minute victory in a push to force every delegate to vote on the new Party's Rules on the Convention floor.

Delegates Unbound, a group of delegates that support unbinding the delegates to free them from their pledge to vote for Trump, announced Monday afternoon it had secured enough support to force that roll call vote on the Convention floor.

The delegates aim to vote down the Rules Package in its entirety in order to force the Party back to the drawing board under pressure to unbind delegates. But the effort will likely only gum up the process, as it remains extremely unlikely the effort can find the 1,237 delegates needed.

“Despite every obstacle thrown in our way, the movement of all the stakeholders involved in this effort have gained a majority of the delegates in 10 states," said Dane Waters, Co-Founder of Delegates Unbound, in a statement released just before the convention began.

The rules say they must deliver the Delegate signatures into the hands of the Convention Secretary which they have not been able to find yet.

If they do and the Convention acknowledges they are valid, they will get a Record Vote.

They know Trump's team is trying to force a Voice Vote.

UPDATE
The Anti-Trump delegates have a majority of signatures from at least 9: Colorado, Washington state, Utah, Minnesota, Wyoming, Maine, Iowa, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The also claimed that Alaska had provided signatures as well.

The group says former New Hampshire Sen. Gordon Humphrey has submitted the signatures to the convention secretary, an exchange that followed after a frantic search to find the Secretary before the deadline to submit the signatures. Never Trump leaders raised concerns that the Secretary, Susie Hudson of Vermont, might intentionally avoid them to ensure the effort was defeated.

Chaos broke out at the Republican National Convention after Republican leaders bypassed a call for a full floor vote on the Convention rules. They said there was not enough votes with no documentation to prove it.

The groups final chance would be to either/or have delegates abstain from voting for Trump or Pence, so they do not get the required votes on the first ballot.
