WY Bill to Combine Ranked-Choice Voting and Top-Four

Thanks to Richard Winger of Ballot Access news for this post.

On January 8th, Wyoming State Senator Chris Rothfuss (D-9th District, Laramie) introduced SF0065.

It would use Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) in Primaries and General Elections.

It would provide for the Top Four Candidates for any particular Office, as chosen in the August Primary, to appear on the November Election Ballot.

In November, Voters would use RCV to Select the Winners.

Sponsor: State Sen. Chris Rothfuss (D-9th District, Albany County).

Co-Sponsors:

State Sen. Cale Case (R-25th District)
State Sen. Wendy Davis Schule R-(15th District)
State Rep. Mike Lin (D-16th District)
State Rep. Dan Zwonitzer (R-43rd District)

It is not clear whether the Bill would affect Presidential Elections.

It also eliminates Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen at Primary Elections.
