According to Bloomberg, American auto manufacturer Tesla Inc, is planning to Reopen its only U.S car Plant in Fremont as soon as Friday.

The Move from Tesla comes just after California allowed manufacturers in the state to reopen their operations, which were shut during the Coronavirus lockdown. The state’s announcement drew an enthusiastic “Yeah!!” on Twitter from Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, who have become a father recently, has been criticizing the lockdown imposed by the U.S Government, calling that a serious risk to U.S businesses, he even went ahead and tagged the moved as unconstitutional and added that if challenged it would not hold up before the supreme court.

Even though the company’s factory is located in Alameda where the lockdown is scheduled to last until the end of the May. So, according to a county order the factory is not allowed to operate regularly.  The Fremont plant cased its operations in mid-March after lockdowns were imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19, which has infected more than 3.8 million people globally.

On the other hand, the United Auto Workers, whose members operates the assembly lines at factories like Ford, GM, and FCA has resisted any earlier efforts to reopen plants, in order to safeguard worker’s safety.

“We all knew this day would come at some point,” Rory Gamble the union’s president said in a statement. “While the companies have the sole contractual right to determine the opening of plants, our UAW focus and role is and will continue to be, on health and safety protocols in which we have the contractual right to protect our members.”
