Plus Size Swimwear Lookbook 2019

During the past year with how many spa days we have been enjoying, tankinis have become my favourite of all swimwear. That’s why there’s so many of them in this post! You could mix and match, they’re easier to get on and off, and they come in super cute styles. I did have quite a big more swimwear on the way, but unfortunately, they didn’t turn up on time. So here’s what I ended up wearing, the links to buy and what sizes I wore. River Island Plus Plus black mixed print beach skirt – Size 26 Plus black baroque print belted swimsuit – Size 26 The swimsuit has no actual support in at all and is quite small in size. I found that it dragged my boobs down but I don’t think you can really tell on the photos. I wouldn’t be comfortable without the skirt as, like most brands this year, the swimwear is designed to be extremely high up on the hip, which exposes quite a lot. Overall it’s a really striking combination and something that definitely wows! Bra Stop Bra Stop has always been one of my favourite places to shop, they have an amazing range and it’s always a great price. This year they sent me four different tankini sets to wear on holiday. Flirtelle I found the Flirtelle tankini tops extremely difficult to get into, but once they’re on they are really comfortable. This is down to the bra aspect at the front of the tops. I have to put one boob in at a time and have Alfie helped me. Obviously, I’m disabled so that could be a big part of it and swimwear is always tighter anyway. I could not fasten them at the back but for comfort when swimming, I wouldn’t want to anyway. After a few wears, I did find that these started to get easier and easier to get into, and the polka dot became my favourite one to wear. Flirtelle Palm Bay Tankini Top – 42G Flirtelle Black Polka Dot – 42G The last photo is such a good one of my beautiful new Tom Ford Anoushka sunglasses, kindly gifted by Vision Direct. They are currently partnering with WWF Australia on an amazing campaign to help sea life by making glasses from gill nets. Having already got rid of the last commercial gill net from the northern Great Barrier Reef, they’re now going to upcycle 100% of that net into sustainable sunglasses! It works by shredding and melting down the collected nets and putting them into sunglasses moulds, then the sunglasses can be sold with 50% of the proceeds going straight back to the WFF for their conservation work! How amazing is that? You can even have your prescription put in them. I always have to have some Curvy Kate pieces on holiday. They always have such beautiful styles. I was super excited to see a Bra Stop Limited Edition Navy Voltage set! I had the black version a few years ago and I got so many amazing comments on it. The pants always come up small at Curvy Kate but I still managed to get them on, it wasn’t that comfortable though. The Maya bottoms have such a beautiful cut-out design but they only went up to a size 20, so instead, I just wore some plain black bottoms. I think they work really well with the set! Curvy Kate Hi-Voltage Navy Tankini Top – 42G Curvy Kate Maya – 42G Curvy Kate I loved the sheer tankini set from Curvy Kate the second I saw it! I rarely go for plain black swimwear anymore but it’s so nice once in a while. I decided to stick on my hat from Pink Clove and the Tom Ford sunglasses again. It’s a really lovely style and fit, it also comes in a striking red colour! Curvy Kate Sheer Class Black Balcony Tankini Top – 44G Evans I did have another costume from Evans but it ended up being so plunged neck that it wasn’t family-friendly at all. I was spilling out of both ends and I sized up! Instead, the swimdress from Evans is all kinds of comfy. I love the prints and patterns they had on offer this year and I love how easy the swimdresses are to get on. It’s a lot of material but if you’re not used to tight-fitting swimsuits, a swimdress is a good place to start! Snake Print Twist Front Swimdress – Size 24 Which was your favourite piece in this post?
