Water & Hydration

Buzz: Drink plenty of H2O for radiant complexion and clear bright eyes.

Beauty 101: The human body is comprised of 60% water. Optimum hydration requires more water intake than most people consume on a daily basis. Water carries nutrients to your cells, flushes toxins and improves blood flow. It helps to maintain internal organs in top shape and can also positively contribute to a weight loss program.

Pure Fresh H20
Spa It Up: In a fancy glass (crystal is nice) combine water, ice and a squirt of lemon, lime or mint. Adding chlorophyll concentrate (available at health food stores) is nice option for detox. Hot water with lemon, ginger or chamomile is also a relaxing choice.

How Much is Enough: There really are no definitive rules. The Mayo Clinic suggests an equivalent of eight glasses (eight ounces each) for healthy adults - more if you exercise alot or live in a hot climate. The important thing is to develop good habits of adequate hydration incorporating water, fruit, juice, milk and herbal tea through out the day.

New Research: Two eight ounces glasses of water before meals helps promote weight loss according to Brenda Davy, PhD, as associate professor of nutrition at Virginia Tech and senior author of a new study.

Healthy, free, great for your skin - what's not to love about water. Cheers!
