Body lotion, Body Cream or Body Butter? Which one should you choose?

Lotions contain water and can be tricky to formulate, especially if they contain botanical extracts. They are great! They don't leave Skin feeling greasy and smooth out skin. If they contain specialized ingredients, like Glaucine, then they are specifically targeting skin firmness, like our Body firming milk lotion. Body lotions typically have a nice, slippery feel and glide on. Will they create a lasting moisture barrier? No. Because they are water based, lotions need to be applied often, if dry skin is an issue.

Body Butter is formulated using only oils and natural butters. The list of butters that can be used in a body butter is long. We locked down a winning combination of Olive fruit oil, Hemp seed oil and Coconut Oil. Add a skin soothing botanical extract, like Comfrey and you have a barrier butter that will comfort Sensitive skin and create up to 24 hours of moisture on your skin. Dry, Sensitive, Sensitized and troubled skin call out for a well formulated body butter. The benefits are many, not the least is strengthening the skin lipid. We don't add fragrance or dyes to our body butter because it would defeat the goal of caring for the skin. A body butter does take a bit longer to absorb into the skin, but well worth it. The best way to use a body butter is right after a bath or shower. Damp skin will allow greater absorption and a little body butter will easily spread. Once you've found a good body butter, there's no going back.
You can use all three at different times, different seasons or to target specific issues. Silky, Smooth skin is beautiful skin...but more importantly, strong skin is the body's first line of defense. Choose well. Choose quality and non-sensitizing ingredients.
Your body. Your rules.
