When you spend over 65% of your time awake in Office, toiling away, it is needless to say, your work dominates your life. A good day at work reflects well on your day as a whole. But even more important than your workplace, are the people that you work with.

Colleagues as you call it or co-workers tend to mould your personality… I am no different and keep my best friends at work close to my heart.

Sitting across each other all day, five days a week, you would think one would get bored soon or reach a saturation point. But not me. No Sir no. From office gossip to husband talks to boyfriend to food, fashion, health and pretty much everything under the sun; the list goes on and before you know, the day is over and we pick it up the next day and the innate cycle of bond grows. At times we feel we live off each other. We are bunch of 8 girls in a team of 10, with two poor chap obviously being the outcast in day-to-day intrinsic pro-female talks… At times you feel like giving a standing ovation to the poor souls who lives through the day without complaining (at least not out loud). In another world these boys would be running pulling their hair apart after the constant yanking as the estrogen talks get on their nerves…

So coming back to the topic, I too have souls who are my life and soul at work and even beyond (increasingly) with each passing day. While they carry more life experience under their belts, I fill the gap with my own unique awkwardness and ‘atrangi’ ways to make our otherwise mundane days eventful. So be it making a ‘dubsmash’ out of the blue (after working on it for an hour) or asking them to wear Traditional Dress on festivals I hold dear, they are always up for it, even if it means sitting though a 15 min lecture of mine on how to use technology or running back home to wear the traditional dress after having forgotten the first time…. I scold them, they shout at me, I cry about my quarter-life crisis, they crib about their white hair. We the three musketeers (and one more from the corner of office) always go an extra mile to make room for each others’ comforts.Between us, we fill each other’s void and together are a force to reckon with or as I like to say – When Miss Influential Richie Rich and Miss Politically Correct Glam Doll and Miss I-have-to-do-something-out-of-the-box get together, no day is the same, there is no room for saturation, normalcy goes for a toss and well nothing is left to regret…To think about it, how important are your colleagues in your life? Do you have them on your speed dial (I do)? Do you fight and makeup? What stage are you on with them – like, love, dislike or hate?

Anyway, for me the Queens of good times have just begun…
