Review: Juice Beauty – Blemish Clearing Powder

Almost turning 26, my Skin still often suffers blemishes or cystic acnes for many reasons. That could be because of stress, climate change, pollution, food, sleep deprivation and especially, menstrual period. I hate it like hell! And, sometimes the condition even gets worse and infected without proper treatments. I don’t actually feel terrible about this, but come on! A beautiful, flawless skin has been girls’ lifelong dream when looking at themselves in the mirror. At least, we gotta try to make it better.

I’m gonna share something that might be an incredible solution for all of us since it realistically improves my acne vulgaris. Let’s dive right into my review of Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Powder. The product is one of the holy grails that I obsess with on the daily basis, always takes a generous space in my bag.

1. About the Product

Extraordinarily formulated with numerous plant and fruit extracted ingredients that are rich in natural nutrients for skin nourishment and treatment. Contains aloe vera leaf (Aloe Barbadensis), giving a powerhouse of vitamins A, C and E as antioxidants, enzymes, minerals, glycoproteins, fatty acids, amino acids and hormones. These active components deliver healing, soothing, hydrating anti-aging properties.

Moreover, the signature ingredient is bamboo (Bambusa Arundinacea) Powder. It boasts potent antibacterial, antiseptic and calming effects to mitigate swelling bumps and pimples. The bamboo extract is loaded with natural silica that stimulates regeneration of collagen and elasticity as well as brings anti-inflammatory activities against blemishes.

Infused with cornstarch (Zea Mays) to leave a velvety, matte finish, but also soothe skin ailments. Popularly used in homemade remedies to alleviate skin irritations, like allergies and sunburn. In addition, to diminish the spreading acnes, the product is inclined to astoundingly replenish skin and preserve its water retention for healthy, youthful look.

Mixed with fruit seed oils of grape (Vitis Vinifera), blueberry (Vaccinium Corymbosum), pomegranate (Punica Granatum), raspberry (Rubus Idaeus), kiwi (Actinidia Chinensis), strawberry (Fragaria Ananassa) and cranberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon). All of those are packed with Phytonutrients, age-defying agents of Polyphenols and Gamma Tocopherols, Linoleic and Oleic Acids, and Amino Acids. They focus on rejuvenating skin but also minimizing the invasion of oxidative stress due to external perils, such as UV rays and pollutants.

Plus, there are included extracts of acai berry and goji berry. Both provide anti-inflammatory elements from anthocyanins, epicatechin, protocatechuic acid, proanthocyanidins and procyanidins. Those help to relieve the painful, blistering pimples and simultaneously, nourish skin with antioxidants for a vibrant, lively complexion.

The powder consists botanical extracts of tea tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia), thyme (Thymus Vulgaris), rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) and orange (Citrus Sinensis). Full of antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, restoring and soothing properties to kill bacterial breeding at a low hazard. As effective as Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid, these constituents tend to regulate sebum production.

Claimed to bring about concealing effect made of a starch (Tapioca) derived from cassava root (Manihot Esculenta), minerals and aloe powder to hide ugly, nasty spots. The product is vegan, cruelty-free and certified organic in the absence of Sodium Lauryl Sulfates, Pesticides, Parabens, Petroleum, Propylene or Butylene Glycol, Phthalates, artificial colorants or synthetic fragrances.

2. My Thoughts

I’ve been utilizing the Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Powder for nearly two months. My skin is a type of combination, sensitive, redness and acne prone, especially around cheeks. At first, I thought the product might be harsh to me. Most of acne products I tried before were irritating to my skin, ended up causing dry, flaky patches and allergic flare-ups. However, this time is an exception, I’m digging into it!

The product looks kinda like makeup loose powder, it’s super finely milled and soft to lay down a silky, airy texture and very sheer, transparent coverage. This tends to make skin breathable without clogged pores. You can apply it with a powder brush made of long, fluffy bristles. Shake a little bit powder on the lid, slightly dip the brush into the product and lighten your wrist to gently sweep all over your face. Otherwise, instead of the brush, I love using fingertips to diffuse the powder on top of moisturizers and sunscreen for everyday skincare routine.

More importantly, always cleanse hands before touching your face, if not, the bacteria and viruses can transfer from fingertips to skin. I’d like applying with fingertips rather than brush for my skincare ritual. When sweeping the powder over, moisturizer and sunscreen are more likely to stick onto bristles with grime and debris. Gradually, that causes bacteria breeding for the applications next time. Regarding folk who usually get breakouts, this might be worse. Regularly washing the brush is good, nevertheless so time consumed. Clean fingertips might be easier to control the problem.

Flatteringly, the blemish clearing powder does its job for skincare but also makeup purposes. That’s so awesome, right? You can go foundation and concealer prior to sweeping the powder upon. This helps your makeup to look a bit more matte and become less greasy in order to prevent dirt, debris or pollutants from attaching and penetrating into pores during outdoor exposure.

Splendidly blendable and spreadable to result in a lightweight, thin veil that melts down into skin rather than sits on top. Remember to pick extremely small amounts to blend out all over your face. Being in a rush or doing excess is more likely to leave streaks and patchy residues. The product doesn’t cause uncomfortable, heavy feelings or settle in pores. I apply the powder as a final step of my every morning skincare routine. It’s meant to make my moisturizing cream and sunscreen less sticky or shiny, but doesn’t bring about dull, caked on appearance at all. My complexion still looks plump, moist and supple with a natural luminosity throughout the day.

This is literally amazing to calm down blemishes, I apply the product even whilst going through breakouts because of menstrual period. It doesn’t exacerbate my acne vulgaris or trigger irritation and itchiness. My skin finds perfectly fine without oily traces or greasiness on T-zone areas for the whole day. The healing process might be kinda slow in the first few weeks of using, however, this seems to occur faster when keeping it up daily. Lately, within one or two days, the lumps and bulges become less swelling and less reddening. Also, whiteheads and blackheads noticeably dry out, I can gently pull them out by massaging my face with an oil-based cleanser at night. To be honest, my skin is now clearer and smoother, pimples are less likely to sneak to my skin.

There are some problems that might be annoying to you. The powder has only one shade that is fair, light tone, it might be too light or pale for some of us. In my case, the product brightens my complexion up, I don’t really find this troublesome. And, it isn’t concealing to hide spots, rather tends to sheer out for a natural, no-makeup look. You can dab a bit extra on zits and bumps to treat the acnes. Furthermore, the powder is very dusty and tends to slightly fall off while applying. Such a waste! Last but not least, facial sweating could make it leave uneven, blotchy marks.

The powder is really go-to for most of skin types, normal, combination, sensitive, dry and oily, acne prone. If you have excessive sebum and severe acne vulgaris, you should use it along with non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizers and skincare products for blemish prone skin.

3. Packaging

Housed in a small, plastic round loose powder jar with a satin aluminum cap. Its shape and size look similar to a sample cream cosmetic container. The jar comes with permanent sifter to effectively manage the amount of product you want to take. The container and its lid are too small and awkward to dip a powder brush in. Washed fingertips may be more convenient to do it. The jar is small and weightless, suitable for carrying around and traveling. Don’t shake the jar before using, the powder could fall out everywhere when opening the cap.

4. Rating 8/10

I think the product is so fantastic and it really helps to smooth out my skin’s imperfections, except for its low concealing effect. The powder tends to provide a natural look with acne fighting action rather than create thick texture to cover up the things. However, the shade is kinda light, not wearable for everyone. I’d like to give it 8 out of 10. Check out the price below, dollies!
