STD'S!!!!!!!

Let's talk about getting Tested and STD's!!! (I know, I know, contain your excitement.) As much as we, myself included, would love to pretend that the not so fun/romantic part of sex doesn't exist, it's SO important that everyone, who is sexually active, take this stuff seriously. But it's hard to take getting tested and STD's seriously when all we know about them is the stigma that getting tested is for only the "promiscuous girls/boys", and STD's are only for the "dirty". So, let's start off by throwing out that judgmental and false stereotype. Everyone should get tested regularly as soon as they become sexually active and STD's happen and will happen to 50% of young people by the time they're 25. Now, let's cover how often you should get tested based on how sexually active you are and how many partners you have had/currently have.
- Everyone, AT MINIMUM, should get tested at least once a year
- Women, especially, should always make sure to get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia since women will harbor these 2 infections w/ no symptoms
- People in monogamous relationships and have solid trust/faith in their partner, should get tested whenever deemed fit such as showing symptoms, or if you have a feeling you have possibly been exposed to a STD
- If you have had unprotected sex with a new partner
- within 2 weeks you should get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia ( and pregnancy if you have a vagina and have had vaginal w/penis intercourse)
- within 1 to 3 weeks you should get tested for syphilis
- within 6 weeks to 3 months you should get tested for HIV, hepatitis C and B
- If you are just starting a relationship it would be a good idea to both get tested beforehand
- If you have tested positive for a STD before you should get tested every 3 months
- If you are in an open relationship and you sleep with the same people routinely, you should get tested every 3 months
Now that we have that covered, it's also VERY  important to be aware of which STD's you can get exposed to. Whether or not you consider oral sex technically counting as sex, performing or receiving oral sex w/ no protection, will put you at risk of getting a STD.
