Is Ovulation Discharge Normal?

It is normal for most women to have a clear, stretch Ovulation Discharge. About a day or two before ovulation, most women experience a slippery wet discharge similar to egg white. This type of discharge is known as egg white cervical mucus.

The main purpose for a slippery discharge during ovulation is to make the vagina environment less acidic and for the sperm to moves easily upwards towards the egg.​


What Causes a smelly Vaginal Discharge?

A smelly vaginal discharge is caused mostly by an infection. 

Bacterial Vaginosis: If you discharge has a fishy odor. Then you most likely have BV. Other symptoms of BV are:

  • Greenish/yellowish discharge​ with an unpleasnt smell
  • Vaginal itching and irritation
  • Burning pain when urinating or during intercourse

What does Discharge during ovulation smell like

Discharge at ovulation has no smell or odor. And if at all the smell is mild. If you notice a smell in your discharge, you should see a doctor immediately.


How to Treat a smelly Discharge

If you discharge is smelly do the following:

1. See a Doctor to test for an infection

2. Take a bath with apple cider vinegar

3. Take a probiotic yogurt​

4. Add tree tea oil to your bath​
