Some women do swear that it works.

How to use the chinese calendar to conceive a boy or girl

To use this calendar or chart you have to understand some terms.

To predict a baby's gender, the Chinese Calendar chart uses:

  • The woman's Chinese age
  • The Lunar Month of Conception.

Please note that your Chinese Age is much older than your normal age.

This is because the Chinese calendar starts the calculation of your birthday from the womb.

So by the time you are born you are already 1 year old.

The Chinese gender chart shows the relationship between the Chinese Lunar month of conception and the mother's Chinese age.

To get your Chinese age and the month you plan to or you conceived your baby we are going to make use of 2 simple calculators.

This is going to be a 3 step exercise:

Step 1:  Calculate your Chinese age and write it down.

Step 2:  Calculate the Chinese Lunar Age and write it down.

Step 3: Cross check your Chinese Age at the time of conception against the date you conceived or plan to conceive your baby.
