Guests have options at Saybrook Point Inn & Spa…if you covet a quiet and more removed experience, booking at the Guest Houses (Three Stories and Tall Tales) is for you. Situated across the street from the Main Inn, these rooms are in historic homes that offer a more exclusive B&B feel than mainstream hotel vibe. Peaceful and private, the spectacularly decorated rooms are for adults only (no furry friends or children under 18 are permitted). The details in the Guest Houses are intricate and well thought out – and for lack of better words, simply divine. You won’t see any design repeats on this side of the resort – every interior element has been hand selected with a keen eye to match the mood, history and locations of the rooms.

With private balconies, luxurious European bedding,  and beautiful gardens – you might never want to leave. But should you decide to venture from relaxing on the front wrap-around porch soaking in the stunning water views, you are just a few steps away from the superior amenities the SPI&S offers. I was fortunate enough to experience the Lady Fenwick Junior Suite, which was nothing short of perfection.

Some other notable amenities at Tall Tales and Three Stories:

If you are seeking a more traditional hotel experience (where the kiddies are welcome with open arms), the Main Inn offers an equally spectacular experience. Guest rooms range from Standard room (320 square feet of cozy comfort) all the way up to One Bedroom Suites ( 790 spacious square feet) – with uber lush options in between.

The most notable of all the rooms, is the Lighthouse Suite – situated on the main dock, this suite boasts unobstructed views of the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River wherever you look. With a living room, dining area, and kitchenette available, it is 900 square feet of space to call your own. We hear this is a favorite amongst the brides who wed on the property (and who can blame them!?).

Dinner at Fresh Salt

If you crave mouth-watering food in an eye candy setting – the award winning Fresh Salt on the premises won’t disappoint. Using the finest local ingredients and a passion for culinary perfection, every meal the on-site chefs prepared was an experience that left me yearning for more. Dieters please note – this is well worth the cheat day.

The SPI&S’s Local Food Commitment allows them to work closely with local fishermen, farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land, and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Sanno Spa

Whether it is a couple’s massage (which is what I opted for), a facial, body wrap or even a makeup application for your date night at Fresh Salt, Sanno Spa covers the gamut. All on-site in a serene and tranquil environment – you will lose yourself in relaxation and comfort.

Health Club

Take a quick dip or a long soak in the property’s indoor and outdoor pools, heated year-round. Unwind in the sauna, steam room, or therapeutic whirlpool – or all three. The health club’s large fitness center offers state-of-the-art equipment (which might help you work off some of the scrumptious meals you eat at Fresh Salt – especially the larger than life and oh-so-delicious Sunday Brunch).
