The love for Silk is nothing new for an Indian woman. Silken sarees do well for weddings, festivals, and other auspicious ceremonies. Once worn only by royalty and the upper classes, today every Indian woman sports the handloom silk fabric from occasions exclusive to daily wear.

Unnati Silks in its continued journey of four decades, has once again introduced very recently a mixed array of the silken variety that has since introduction perked up the interest beyond mere.

Let us explore them.

1. There is a range of the Dupion silk sarees blended with the Tussar variety where you have lovely plain pure silk sarees sporting printed eye-pleasing motifs with parallel borders plain and with designer prints that spark an allure extremely attractive indeed. Dupion is by nature one of the purest silks, that creases well. The nubby texture and manner of weave creates a beautiful shimmer. In fact the charismatic appeal lies in its patterned weave that converts an irregular surface into a feature of fashion. Easy to manage and highly wrinkle resistant, the Dupion fabric has always created interest. On the other hand Tussar silk also known as ‘wild silk’ is basically grown in the Jharkhand and Chattisgarh forest regions. A blend of such quality silks brings out a fabric that harbors the good qualities of both and brings forth lovely offerings of creativity.

2.There is also another range of the singular qualities of the Tussar silk fabric. There are sarees with lovely floral designs all over the body, sometimes imagery of palm and hand in different postures that are very endearing. From the weavers of Chattisgarh, the pure handloom silk sarees bear the Silk Mark, a symbol of purity of the silk used in the fabric as well as a legal backing for the same. Some designer offerings have a classy pallu with a lot of colored bands across and in alternating colors. Incidentally the Tussar silk is also referred to as Kosa silk and the nature of the fabric blend weave of Tussar Ghicha, gives rise to a lot of opportunities to hand paint images of unique attraction. Hand-woven Tussar Silk Sarees are well known for their texture, zari borders and motifs and the hand crafted designs that enrich them. The use of leftover silk from woven fabrics, are also used to create designs on the main fabric.

3. There are plenty of new designs in Kota silks in self color woven checks. The Kota region of Rajasthan has a lovely tradition on silk and has therefore acquired based upon the typical offerings of the region, the name ‘Kota Silk’. In its weave there is by the manner of the intersecting threads created a special lattice of checks that is a design in itself. The land of the desert has produced fine cotton handloom sarees but the Kota silk sarees have cast a spell-binding magic. The Kota Silk Saree is woven in a manner designed to produce check patterns on the fabric. The square shaped checks are known as Khats.

4. One of the exquisite fabrics in terms of bettering cotton and all other fabrics in beating the summer heat is the special fibre of long staples – Linen sarees. There is a whole new range of the captivating pure linen silk sarees. In a mingling of the geometrical shapes housing trendy floral designs and various experiments in shapes and sizes in a plethora of colors the new range shows promise and potential of more to follow. The pure linen silk sarees online are more about elegance and appeal than eye-catching allure. Yet some of them with their criss-cross of colored bands in interesting arrays, large imagery motifs showing elephants, spreading flowery gardens are very interesting themes explored to the hilt.
