Laura Geller New York Beauty Haul and Review

I’ve always been super fascinated by baked makeup. There’s just something so magical and delicious about looking at the chemistry between various colors melting and swirling together, like the fluidity of a dance.

That’s why when I first set my eyes on the Laura Geller brand at my local ULTA Beauty store, I instantly got entranced by the marbled powder foundations, sparkling highlighters, baked eye shadows and candy-like colored lip glosses.

I decided to try the Spackle Primer and the Baked Balance-N-Brighten Powder Foundation first, to test if the quality of the products is as good as it looks. And I wasn’t disappointed.

The Balance-N-Brighten Foundation is a light to medium coverage foundation (at least for me), perfect to wear during summer or during weekends when you don’t need the heavy duty coverage and staying powers of liquid foundations, like my all time favorite: Double Wear by Estee Lauder. I like it that it does color correct and does a decent job at hiding imperfections and even-ing the skin’s color and texture.

It’s quite a must to use it with the Spackle Primer, as without it the application can be a little uneven. The down side is that – just like with any primer – the skin can become a little oily/shiny after a few hours of wear, so do bring a mattifying powder with you if you plan on being out and about for extended periods of time while wearing this. Especially if you have combination skin type, like I do.

Being pretty impressed with these two products mentioned earlier, I decided to go on a Laura Geller beauty haul and I took advantage of some of the sales they had on their website.

What I got:

  • Laura Geller The Best of Baked Palette
  • Eye Rimz Baked Wet/Dry Eye Accents in Rich Rust
  • Eye Rimz Baked Wet/Dry Eye Accents in Berry Flambe

They also included free gifts with the order, which was super nice because I love trying new things. And they also have a points system on the website which allows you to get points for each order, that are ultimately redeemable for price reductions on future orders. The free stuff I got:

  • Complexion Favorites 2 Pc Gift Set
  • Mini Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey
  • Hydrating Primer Spackle Sample 2ML

The Best of Baked Palette is absolutely gorgeous! My absolute favorite is Baked Eyeshadow in Cocoa; it’s very hard for me to abstain from wearing it every day. The rich, creamy, matte dark chocolate espresso color makes my eyes really pop and it’s perfect when paired with a rust color eye shadow.

The Best of Baked includes the following:

– Baked Highlighter in Golden Rose (a sheen, sheer pink)

– Baked Blush-N-Brighten in Pink Buttercream (a perfect petal hue swirled with copper and gold flecks)

– Baked Bronze-N-Brighten in Medium (a medium hue with cool undertones)

– Baked Eyeshadow in Sand (a light beige with peach), Guava (a soft gold-peach) and Cocoa (a chocolate brown)

I’m also obsessed with the Golden Rose Highlighter which I usually dab on the corner of my eyes and underneath the eyebrows to accentuate an every day look, or on the high cheeks when I want to glam out.

Oh and I forgot to mention that this palette also comes with a double ended applicator brush, which is very soft.

Next on my list of favorites are the Eye Rimz Eyeshadows which to me look like mesmerizing constellations (especially Berry Flambe). How pretty are these?!

The best part about these eyeshadows is that they can be used both wet AND dry, so you can get away with wearing them during the day. I use them when I go to the office and you know what… screw rules! If I love something I’m going to wear it.

Not to mention, all their products are made in Italy, baked for 24 hours and polished by hand. This video shows the entire process of baking and manufacturing:
