Album Review - Mark Mathews 'The Raging Sea'

Album Review - Mark Mathews 'The Raging Sea'

My very first Album review is of Mark Mathews new Album 'The Raging Sea' which I would describe as upbeat indie. Influenced by The Beatles and The Kinks as well as American greats like The Band and Ryan Adams, Mark's music is catchy indie pop with a little folk edge.

Mark is a London based singer-songwriter who has been played on BBC introducing, voted one of the best artists in London by readers of the Metro newspaper, awarded first place in the Indie International Songwriting competition and nominated for two Indy Music Awards for best live act.

Myself and Mark bonded via Twitter after we had both tweeted about the sad loss of Prince Be of PM Dawn. 'Set a drift on memory bliss' is one of my all time favourite songs and one of the first that Mark had ever purchased. This is how I discovered Mark's great sound and not only is he a great singer-songwriter but a great guy too!
