A common question at Banner4Sale is how our Banners hold up to the elements. Can we print an outdoor banner? The short answer, yes. The long answer, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. The how is a bit more of an explanation.

Different Types of Banners

Currently, we offer four different types of banners. We offer 13 oz, 15 oz, 20 oz and mesh extreme. As you go up in oz on a banner, the more durable your sign is going to be. However, don't discredit the 13 oz banner. It will withstand the rigors of both rain and sunshine. Shine is actually a bit of a trickier animal to determine. Extreme heat will cause a vinyl banner to stretch or expand slightly, but for the most part, it shouldn't affect the quality of your print. Just don't put your banner on the surface of the sun and you should be alright.

Mesh extreme is sort of a different animal altogether. It's mainly for high wind areas or if your application calls for a lighter banner. You can get wind slits cut into our regular banners, but the mesh extreme offers a slightly different look.

 Outdoor Banners

So, how does it work? How do we print a banner that's able to stand up against the elements? The short answer is a substance called 'latex optimizer.' It's a substance that is positively charged, while our inks are Negatively Charged. The printer lays down a layer of positively charged latex optimizer first and then puts the negatively charged ink on top. This creates a more precise print with a better bond to the material. It's what makes our inks stick to our vinyl banners so well. Plus 'optimizer' sounds like a car that turns into a robot.
