An Emerging Scientific World-View:

The Planet as a giant thought.

One of the most critical problems in almost every country in the world today, whether they be on a dung, wood, coal or oil economy, is to find renewable, clean energy systems, and to order the flow of power therefrom.  It would appear that between the flow of news by the media, the knowledge and information of science, the wisdom of religion, and the good will of man wanting to help himself and others, that a solution to the need for energy and power could be found.  But as is well known, this is not the case.

A philosophy of random billiard balls ricochet interactions dominates both thinking and action.

And to compound matters if the information and wisdom from these three fields: media, science and religion is wielded in politics with the billiard ball type of action and reaction —how can such a random process ever lead to order and justice in society?

If order and justice are to prevail in society where do we turn for guidance and wisdom?  To the News Media?  To Science?  To Religion?  To Politicians?  To Government?  All these sources have been tried, and are being used in some contemporary nation today.  The field results thus far are not very encouraging.  The only place we can turn to for wisdom and guidance is to the true source of wisdom and guidance—the enlightened individual.

This is the one who has lived fully in both the real world of affairs, and the ideal world of feeling, ideas and of spirit: One who has come into tune with the intelligence of the Creator.  In the contemporary context this goal sounds very much like archaic Gnostic heresy.  But is it?

Let us explore this possibility more deeply.

The great and brilliant success of science for the past one hundred years may have blinded most of us to its two basic inadequacies.

The first is that science is not a complete picture of the universe, but it is only a way of knowing, and we might add parenthetically, not the only way.

The second, is that science has only the most rudimentary and primitive knowledge about human nature.

Granted that these two defects in the world view of science exist, i.e. rudimentary knowledge of the universe (Physics), and a rudimentary knowledge of man (mind/matter/relationship)—what can be done to remedy this defect in our knowledge, and what would such new knowledge mean to man?

These questions are rooted in the age-old questions of religion and philosophy: Is the world a giant thought, i.e., God as mind?

Or,

Is the world a giant machine, i.e., matter-energy regulated solely by the laws of physics?

There is no question that the unstated position of modern science is that the world is a giant machine.  But is this world view impregnable, or is it an incomplete world view?
 

There is a new world view from the labors and thinking of a small group of scientists who, over the past ten years, have found solid evidence that the idea of the world being a giant thought, is a tenable and a valid one.  The meaning of this new for science, but very old idea, is that a giant thought sustains and dominates the world, and it is possible that it may have created the world of matter-energy.

The implications of this new world-view, and new science, once they are established, are truly enormous.  Once this new science has reached the stage of application (which it has not yet done) it will change the entire course of contemporary civilization.

First, it means that a new kind of mind power has been found to exist in individual human beings.  The individual is now known to be potentially cable of creating de novo, his own energy, and material, and transport needs solely by the latent powers of his own mind.

The new experimental evidence shows that the human is potentially capable of full communication with other human minds on planet Earth, the sole instrument of communication being the mind.

This same new emerging power of mind is capable of apprehending the order and the laws of the giant thought to the extent that man may be able to take over the guidance of his future evolutionary destiny.

This same new emerging power of mind may be able to overcome the vast astronomical barriers of communication with other planets and other orders of beings in the universe, perhaps including beings far beyond present human evolution.

Such are the potentialities for man if he can but master these new laws of the world, not in terms of a giant machine, but in terms of a giant thought.  What is the evidence that these potentialities may be realized?  The evidence is so good and so real, even though it is of preliminary nature, that modern science as a political body has mobilized itself to ignore this evidence as a least effort, and to suppress the new knowledge as a concerted effort.
