I would assume that a magazine that focuses on photography should always have one of the most-striking/best images on the cover… Shutterbug features the pictures of Anup Shah, and one of his absolutely stunning images (and beautiful cover model!) from his recent African Wildlife experience is featured on the latest issue.

Southern Vines, Winter 2017

I have to be honest that I haven’t heard/read about Southern Vines before, until someone on Twitter pointed it out. And now, after reading the digital issue (free), I’ve got another magazine I need to add to my reading list! This is a beautiful quarterly magazine that focuses on lifestyle and leisure in Cape Town. On the cover is the striking artwork by artist Ian Skene.

Taalgenoot, Winter 2017

This Afrikaans beauty on the latest Taalgenoot cover is writer, poet and (most recently) TV personality, Bibi Slippers. She’s one of those South African voices that you just have to keep an eye out for, because she’s going to make even bigger waves in the coming years! Love this cover concept with a cheeky peekaboo, her love for the Afrikaans language being celebrated, and her love for lambs.

MagLove by @MediaSlut is a regular slot featuring the best local and international magazine covers every week, recognising well thought-out, powerful and interesting (and hopefully all three-in-one) covers and celebrating the mix of pragmatism, creativity and personal taste that created each of them.
