The new character of Devil May Cry 5 is not inspired by Kylo Ren

Itsuno recognizes similarities between V and the villain of Star Wars

Last week, Capcom shared new details of Devil May Cry 5. Among them was the revelation of V, who will be the third playable character in this installment. When seeing it, many fans felt that it was inspired by Kylo Ren, a character that Adam Driver interprets in Star Wars; However, the reality is different.

In a recent conversation with Eurogamer, Matt Walker, producer of Capcom, spoke about it and made it clear that they designed V before seeing Kylo Ren: "We have had a good time making this game! When we saw Adam Driver, we thought 'oh, hell'. We were doing it before Star Wars [ The Force Awakens ]! "

For his part, Hideaki Itsuno, director of Devil May Cry 5 recognized that there are similarities between both characters. That said, he says he was created before watching episode 7 of Star Wars. He even guaranteed that he has ways to prove that V was designed before the premiere of the movie.

"We were surprised! When we started doing it, the new characters were the first ones we did - I mean Nico and V - we created their designs very early. And then we went to see Star Wars and we saw Kylo Ren and we said 'oh, heck, it looks the same as [V]! If you ever go to Osaka, I'll show you the designs, how we did them, in what order and how it was to show that they have nothing to do with Kylo Ren, "he said.

And you, do you think V really looks like Kylo Ren? Tell us in the comments.

We take advantage of the fact that we talk about Devil May Cry 5 to tell you that it will have microtransactions; however, they will not break the game. On the other hand, you should know that we already know the requirements that your PC must fulfill in order to run it.
