League of Legends Art Showcase: Our Top Picks

League of Legends has one of the biggest gaming communities in the world. With over 100 million monthly active players in 2018, it’s no surprise that some of them are incredibly talented artists. If you’re an aspiring artist or just love looking at others peoples work, then we’ve got just the thing for you.

We’ve scoured the web to bring you the very best League of Legends art. From professional Artwork created by the guys at Riot to fanart and even some pixel art, this is the only LoL art gallery you’ll need.

So grab a Starbucks, get your hipster glasses out and pull your best thinking face, here are our top League of Legends art pics.

League of Legends Art

To get things started, we’re taking a look at some professional work by artists over at Riot HQ. From concept art to illustrations, artists at Riot are responsible for designing characters and bringing their looks and personality to life. Here are some of our favorite work from the artists at Riot HQ.

Our first piece of must-see artwork comes from the official Riot website. This piece of art has a very special history as it is one of the early character designs for the champion Annie. Compared to other artwork of Annie out there, this picture has a much more realistic feel with fantastic detail and colors. Not only is this picture’s style unique, but it also shows another side of Annie which many people have never seen before. With the burning remains in the background and a tearful Annie, it’s a huge contrast from how she’s shown in-game.

Next up is another piece of artwork direct from the artists at Riot. Before every champion gets created, they always go through a design phase that involves concept art. This picture shows an early version of Heimerdinger before he became the character he is today. Full of exceptional detail, this piece of art definitely deserves a feature in our showcase. Not only is it highly detailed but it’s also a piece of LoL history.

This piece of art is a final digital painting of the champion Vi. After months of trying different designs, colors, and styles, this is the final design for what the champion turned out to be. The artwork itself is drawn digitally using paintbrushes and gives the image a much brighter feel. If you thought artwork was all about pencils and paint then think again, a lot of the artists at Riot specialize in digital painting.

When it comes to designing and drawing a champion, the artists at Riot often have to draw several different angles of characters. In this artwork, the artist had to take it one step further and draw several stages of Gnar transforming into Mega Gnar. Overall, this pic has incredible detail and is a brilliant piece of League of Legends artwork.

League of Legends Fan Art

Now we’ve had a look at the professional artwork from artists at Riot; it’s time to look at some fan art instead. League of Legends has a huge community full of artists, designers, and doodlers. To show you just how good the LoL community is, here are some of the best LoL fan art.

Starting our gallery of League of Legends fan art is this impressive piece by Tvonn9. Showing a fierce duel between Ziggs and Teemo, this action-packed image has everything in it. Including a pink ward at the bottom and Teemo hiding in shrubbery waiting to pounce. Overall its an excellent piece of artwork and would look great hanging on anyone’s wall.

This next piece of fan art has no artist details so unfortunately, we’re not sure who drew it. However, what we do know is that it’s incredibly impressive and even challenges some of the artists that work for Riot. Whoever the artist is, we reckon they have a good chance of getting a job at Riot HQ.

Most of the art we’ve seen so far is all about the champions and their individual style. But this amazing artwork doesn’t necessarily focus on the champion but their personality instead. In this picture, Braum is dishing up some delicious food to his Poro friends. The look we get into Braum’s personality is what makes this picture so impressive. Not to mention the drawing itself, with exceptional colors and detail.

This fantastic portrait of Ryze was drawn by the artist Light Gyzj and features Ryze summoning a deadly spell from his book of magic. We love the colorful glow coming out of his book and the motion blur on his hands as he lifts them up. With so much detail in this picture, it’s worthy of being official artwork.

The final picture in our League of Legends showcase is this interesting Fizz pixel art. Created by the artist and LoL fan Alvinmomo, this unique pixel art is impressive considering its drawn entirely out of blocks. The shadings and gradient effects really help bring the picture to life and give it some character.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our League of Legends artwork showcase and we hope these have inspired you to draw your own. Be sure to check back for new pictures as we add more to the gallery.
