Top 10 Idle Clicker Games for iOS and Android

Before You Read

I do judge some of these games on the amount of bandwidth the app demands from my smartphone. I currently live in a rural area without an ISP (internet service provider) so I do not have Wi-Fi and I rely solely on the Verizon cellular towers to provide me with what I need to play these games. Also, all the screenshots below are taken on my iPhone 6S, so they do depict the iOS version of the app. These screenshots were taken on January 29, 2018, so if you are reading this after that date, the apps may have updated and could look different than the photos.

10. Bitcoin Billionaire by Noodlecake Studios Inc

Sourced from the official Facebook Page

My favorite part about this particular game is the 8-bit graphics style and the lower bandwidth demands, besides the ad-viewing feature. The game play simulates a bitcoin miner who, through the earning of bitcoin, works his way up to better items in his house, software, etc.

  • The user can tap the screen to gain bitcoin, which is the clicker feature.
  • Software upgrades improve clicker amount per tap.
  • Purchasing investments creates automatic and offline bitcoin earnings.
  • Make sure you click drones. They drop boxes that contain surprise items like more bitcoins and gems, but they might require you to view an ad. In my opinion, it’s worth it!
  • The app also features new layouts that simulate moving forward and backward in time, complete with new investments and software versions.

9. Nonstop Knight by flaregames

Sourced from the official Facebook page

My favorite part about Nonstop Knight is the actual depiction of combat and the visualization of moving up and down floors, which indicates how far you’ve gone.

  • Finger taps are used to deploy various skills, such as receiving help from a clone or even poisoning the knight’s attacks.
  • The player has to click a specific button to fight the boss of each floor, but there is a setting for it to fight every boss on it’s own.
  • Equipment can be earned by defeating the boss of each level, as well as other promotional offers.
  • The equipment consists of an attack item (like a sword) and two defense items (one head item and one cloth item). These items upgrade the knight’s attack and defense stats.

8. Idle Heroes by droidhang

Sourced from the official Facebook page

Unfortunately, this game has a VERY high bandwidth demand on my phone, so I was unable to actually play it when I’m at home. Therefore, I could not get any good screen shots on this one. I deeply apologize that this particular app review and description is lacking. Feel free to tell me how you feel in the comment section below, because I desperately wanted this game to work so I could try it out.

  • Set your heroes to train when you’re idle.
  • There are many different types of heroes you can utilize in battling, training, or even convert them into evolving material to make better heroes.
  • Guilds, arenas, and other features cements this game as a true RPG.
  • To be completely honest with you, I was not able to try this game out for a legitimate review, but I did not want to discount it for our readers who do not have the same internet issues I do.

7. Idle Tower Defense by Thomas Bizal

Sourced from the official Facebook page

My favorite part of this game is the fact that it’s both Tower Defense AND Idle. I grew up playing Tower Defense games on my school’s computers in between typing lessons. Shout out to Y8.com for all the hours of entertainment they’ve provided me with over the years. The only drawback to this game is the graphics themselves are lacking a little. But the game play more than makes up for the issue.

  • The towers are technically various types of heroes, like knights, mages, and the like.
  • In true tower defense form, the monsters start at one end of the path and follow until the end, taking lives if they make it without getting defeated.
  • As the game idles, your heroes keep fighting and gaining gold.

6. Soda Dungeon by Armor Games Inc

Sourced from official Twitter page

Soda Dungeon is a wonderful turn-based RPG that has really awesome graphics. 8-bit games have been gaining popularity, but thanks to games like this one, you’re not going to hear any complaints from me. Even though the graphics aren’t astounding, the developers still found a away to make sure the colors were vibrant.

  • Money earned from dungeon crawling is used to hire new warriors, upgrade the tavern, and buy better equipment.
  • Dying in a dungeon isn’t something to be afraid of! All you have to do is upgrade and give it another try.
  • At certain levels of the dungeon, you can save your spot return to that area later on. In other words, after a certain point you don’t have to actually start over at the beginning every single time you play.
  • Once you enter the dungeon, click auto and the battle is automated.
  • I know this isn’t a true idle game, but it silll counts as a clicker.

5. Make It Rain: The Love of Money by Space Inch, LLC

Sourced from official Facebook page

Make It Rain originally caught my eye because I liked the simulation of throwing money into the air. The idle benefits were just icing on the cake at this point.

  • Click the dollar bills to gain money. You can also upgrade the dollar bill amounts ($20, $100, etc)
  • A bucket is used for the offline earnings. Upgrade the bucket to be able to hold more and gain more quickly
  • Automatic money is earned while you’re in the app. This can also be upgraded by buying more business ventures.

4. Cookie Clickers by redBit games

Sourced from official Facebook page

A mobile game

This is a VERY popular idle clicker game, so of course I had to add it to the list. I am aware that there is a sequel, Cookie Clickers 2, but I wanted to add the original to this list, due to the popularity.

  • As you click the big cookie in the middle, there are cookies falling in the background, simulating what you’ve earned.
  • The graphic of a finger touching the cookie simulates your non-clicked earnings (automatic when you’re in the app)
  • Offline earnings are also a feature, when you’re not in the app.

3. Adventure Capitalist by Kongregate

Sourced from official Facebook page

Kongregate is one of my favorite app developers for smartphones at this time. I LOVE the graphics and ease of use. There are so many other dupes of this app, but Kongregate will always hold the title of best. Imitation is indeed the highest form of flattery. Adventure Capitalist is a business simulator in the form of an idle clicker game.

  • When you buy and upgrade each business, the meter will fill with time and you earn the money when it’s full.
  • Upgrades can be purchased to make your earnings increase per business.
  • Managers can also be purchased to automate the earnings for each business. If you can’t afford or don’t buy a manager, you have to click the business every time it fills to start the earning over again.
  • Once you reach a certain earnings level, you can unlock the Moon and Mars missions, which is the same layout, but different businesses available. This increases your earning potential.

2. Tap Titans 2 by Game Hive Corp.

Sourced from the official Facebook page

Tap Titans 2 is an RPG idle clicker game. The reason they are ranked so high on the list is the simplicity and ease of use as well as the complexity of the game itself. I love that I don’t have to worry about how often I check a game to be able to move forward. Is it just me or is that the most annoying part of idle clicker games?

  • This game boasts an awesome rebirth system where you can earn items to increase your fighter and heroes’ power when you decide to start over again.
  • You can hire heroes to fight offline and while you idle.
  • Tapping the screen will make your fighter attack faster and increase the damage dealt.
  • When you join a guild, a ship appears to help you fight. An algorithm of your guild mates power indicates what the ship’s damage will be.

1. Ro: Idle Poring by Gravity Co., Ltd

Sourced from official Facebook page

This game is recognized by the creators of Ragnarok as an official game. My favorite part is that it’s a full fledged RPG with the benefits of idle battling and collection. The graphics are cute and very accurate to the original Ragnarok game.

  • The player can choose 3 different hero types : archer, mage, and warrior. Once you hit a certain threshold, the jobs can evolve into better versions.
  • You can gain equipment as you defeat monsters.
  • This game has no real clicker feature, but you have to click Challenge to fight the area’s boss. You can also use Accelerate (which consumes gems) that boasts an auto-battle function that will fight each boss for you. If your power isn’t good enough, you will be defeated and continue fighting the same boss until the time runs out.
  • You can join a guild, which hosts battles against other guilds.
  • Pets are also available to help your power level. You can also level them up by adventuring for a certain period of time while you idle.
  • Gold and equipment is earned by idling the game. You can smelt equipment you do not need into points that allow you to create new equipment.
