How Being An Overwatch Hero In Real Life Would Benefit You – Tanks Edition!

Put those childhood dreams of being Superman or Wonder Woman aside – what if you were an Overwatch hero in real life? With no need to escort payloads (ugh) or capture any points, how would you benefit from their powers and skills in your day-to-day life? Let’s start this series off with my favourite type of heroes – the tanks!

D.Va

APM 좀 올려볼까? (Should I raise my APM a bit?)

No time to take the minutes in your meeting? D.Va’s astounding APM (actions per minute) can fix that. I can picture it already – you’re an aspiring writer, stenographer, or a typist with grueling office hours, clad in business wear. I mean, we all would’ve picked gamer and heroine any day, but this Starcraft 2 MVP lets her fingers do the talking. We’re talking insane APM, guys. That way, you get to spend less time working, and get more time chugging that Mountain Dew.

Orisa

Your safety is my primary concern

Traffic problems? Never fear – the kid-friendly revamped OR-15 unit is here to assist! Be it helping with school crossings or stopping traffic, she’s definitely a show-stopper with Fortify up. Imagine being able to move any object with a graviton charge – who needs magnets? Clearing a table? Done. Need to vacuum under the bed? Alley-oop! Done!

Reinhardt

Crusader online!

Step aside, SWAT teams and riot police. Having a huge shield during conflicts and confrontations would be a plus, especially during crucial moments. Earthshatter-ing to suppress hostile targets while having the heart of a knight takes immense control. Also, you get a rockin’ beard! Sure, the giant scar along his face might give you some difficulties with vision, but everyone digs battle scars.

Roadhog

Say “bacon” one more time…

Time to take some candy from a baby. We’re kidding – being Roadhog means there are so many more possibilities! That hook is a lifesaver in games sometimes – and would be nothing less in real life. Need to save someone from a pool? Or help an old lady cross the road without the hassle of being excruciatingly slow? What about if there was just something from the far side of the table that you just couldn’t reach? Sure, the need to feel alive with gas canisters might be a hindrance, but you also have a wicked costume every Halloween!

Winston

Empirical evidence suggests I’m a real animal

Need to solve that math equation quickly while opening a jar of peanut butter while upside down? Fear not, with the dexterity, intelligence, constitution and strength of Winston, what is there to dislike? You even have a jump pack that takes you to great heights! You might lack a little charisma when it comes to justifying walking with all fours, but you’re a scientist, let the experiments speak for you. Just… don’t get too angry, okay?

Zarya

Hard work is its own reward

Everyone could always use a spotter in the gym. Did you know the 512 tattoo on her shoulder was her personal weightlifting record? This is a higher record than any woman’s set in the Olympics to date! Imagine being a personal trainer, and getting to show off those guns (no, we don’t mean her particle cannon either). The pink hair could be optional, but let’s be real – everything about her is pretty darn cool.

So, which Overwatch tank would you wanna be in real life?
