Remember those Choose Your Own Adventure books that you used to read as a kid? Well, you can now relive that online! Popular streaming site Twitch has decided that they want to start their own interactive “Choose your own adventure” series.

Twitch plans to follow in the footsteps of Apple and Snapchat. Both companies have branched out and made their own original TV series, but Twitch wants to add its own unique twist to it by making a “Choose Your Own Adventure” series.

According to Recode, Twitch is actively searching for partners to help create the series. Twitch’s COO, Kevin Lin said: “The idea is to use the company’s 100 Million monthly viewers to steer the direction of the series.”

How will it work?

The idea is to stream the episodes one at a time and have the actors perform according to the answers chosen by the viewers. Twitch has actually done several projects similar to this one before. Projects like Twitch Plays Pokémon where thousands of Twitch viewers tried to complete Pokémon Red together, for example. The project was a major success, garnering 80,000 viewers on average every day for 16 days continuously.

Currently, Amazon, Twitch’s parent company, is investing into the idea. With other networks like HBO and Netflix looking into the same genre as well, it makes sense that Amazon would use a network like Twitch. After all, it has a dedicated audience already built in.
