Play Angry Birds in Chrome

You can now play Angry Birds in chrome as Rovio has announced a new web based version of the popular mobile game for those that just have to play it, even when their phone is in their pocket.

Quickly becoming a defacto launch requirement for any platform (it’s coming to Windows Phone 7 and the BlackBerry PlayBook shortly), Angry Birds is now available to those using the Chrome Browser on both the PC and the Mac and therefore those who opt for a Chromebook when they come out on the 15 June.

Users will be able to access over 70 levels of the game on their browser, and in a move to create some exclusivity it will only be available to those who download Chrome.

That could start a second app war on the browser front with company’s like Apple, Microsoft and Mozilla (the organisation behind Firefox) gunning for developers to create apps for them instead of others.

Still, with a new version of the game now upon us and available to download for free, those that want to keep their “I’ve got 3 stars on every level” will have to do it all over again. Bummer.

Let us know how you get on. play...
