Today's post features actress Leighton Meester. If you like pretty, young brunettes, you'll love Leighton Meester. She was born in Texas and spent her early years in Florida. Meester, in case you were wondering, is a Dutch name that means "master" or "teacher". At age 11, she moved to New York and began acting and modeling. At 14, she moved to Los Angeles and attended Hollywood High School, Beverly Hills High School and private school. She graduated a year early and made a number of films and guest TV appearances. In 2007, Leighton Meester was cast in CW's Gossip Girl as Blair Waldorf. The show is based on the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar about the lives of New York's privileged Upper East Side young adults.
Leighton Meester's star is definately on the rise. She has garnered critical acclaim for her Gossip Girl performance and she is being recognized more and more as the real hottie on the show. She also has a lot coming up in the next couple of years. Meester has as a small role in the upcoming comedy Date Night, alongside Steve Carell , Tina Fey and fellow hottie Mila Kunis. She will play Rebecca in the upcoming thriller The Roommate, set for February 4, 2011. It was announced that Meester will star in a pre-menopausal version of Thelma & Louise called Cowgirl Bandits,  where she will star next to Pineapple Express and Remember The Daze co-star actress Amber Heard. She was also cast in Screen Gems' upcoming drama Love Don't Let Me Down with  Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw and Garrett Hedlund. She will star in the indie dramatic comedy The Oranges opposite Hugh Laurie.

In addition to her acting, Leighton Meester has an album in the works and has released a couple of singles, "Somebody To Love", featuring R&B singer Robin Thicke, and "Your Love's A Drug".
