What’s good today?: Michelle Handelman, Wume, Pop Crimes

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around what MICA means when they say Michelle Handelman is going to “explore the sublime in its various forms of excess and nothingness,” but we look forward to finding out at the artist’s presentation of Glimmer and Gloom, a mixture of live performance, video, and still photography. Wume, a.k.a. Albert Schatz, was so excited for tonight’s April Fools’ Day gig at the Crown, he made a special “audio trailer,” which you can listen to here. The least you can do is come see the show, also featuring P.C. Worship and Early Universe. From the Short List: “Pianist Marc Irwin performs an evening of jazz, classical, and Italian opera at the Cabaret at Germano’s. Winnipeg experimental band Pop Crimes perform at Club K. Boston hardcore band Death Before Dishonor plays the Charm City Art Space with Ringworm, Relentless, and Piece Keeper. The Out of Your Head collective assembles two sets of one-off improv bands at the Windup Space.
