I accidentally left the key switch in the on position after taking the quad to be dynoed and when I went to get the bike off the trailer noticed the Neutral light on. I turned it off and after a while noticed it still on. Then the check engine light and the fuel light started flashing. I removed the key and they continued to flash and I could hear a relay clicking. I then removed the neutral from the battery and left it for half an hour. Connected the Neutral back to the battery and automatically the nuetral light came on although the key switch was in the off position.It stayed on and did not go off after the 30 seconds. I started the bike and it fired straight up...let it idle...revved it a couple of times and shut it down. The neutral light went off after 30 seconds and then came back on again.
I stripped the wiring harness down and checked every connection,pulled every plug apart, cleaned and regreased with dielectric grease, removed all the relays and replaced with new and check all fuses.While I had the covers off and jiggled all the wires and connections and could not get the fault to reappear. I went and made myself a coffee and returned to find the nuetral light back on. I then decided to check the voltage and found that at 12v exactly. Put the battery on charge overnight and put everything back together the next morning. No fault, went riding for two hours no fault, came home washed the quad...still no fault.
Does this quad have wierd electrical faults if the battery is not at full charge?
