Today, March 20th, marks the first day of Spring. That is if you’re living in the Northern Hemisphere. For anyone in the Southern Hemisphere, today marks the beginning of Autumn.

But what is an Equinox anyway? This video explains all, and debunks the idea that day and night last for exactly the same length of time twice a year.

It turns out that everything regarding the seasons is very approximated. But for us regular folks it’s close enough to be considered equal.

This is all pretty meaningless anyway. I live in the UK, and the supposed first day of Spring is cold, wet, and windy. Roll on Summer, when I may actually get a hint of sun.
