Parenthood Alum Erika Christensen Gives Birth to Her Second Child In an Unplanned Home Birth
Surprise! She’s here! Actress Erika Christensen, 35, got a surprise of a lifetime when she went into labor on Friday, August 10 and her hubby Cole Maness ended up delivering their daughter from home.
Christensen made the announcement via Instagram admitting in her post that her timing of her daughter’s arrival was off and she didn’t call her doctor in time to deliver her baby.
It happened! It happened this morning. And it will go down in family history because babygirl’s own, incredible Dad delivered her all by himself. My fault, as I didnt know she would come so quickly and didn’t call the doc until far too late. He came straight over and arrived about one minute after she joined us in the world. Haha! My Mom too. You should’ve seen their faces when they walked in to hear her little wail. Mom immediately took this picture. So epic. 9:21a (we think) at 7lbs 8oz (we think). 😆 Doc didn’t have time to grab the baby scale in his rush. Meet Ms. Polly. She’s chubby-cheeked and rosy and so beautiful. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’d like to think we were just too busy celebrating for me to assemble this post yesterday. It was Dada’s birthday! And not to be shared with his new daughter I guess, though we were hoping… (Pretty sure in the second pic, @dizmihok is distracting him and making him laugh from off camera. The Ten Days in the Valley Star shared a picture of she and her hubby with their newborn daughter just moments after her grand entrance into the world. Erika also revealed her daughter’s name writing, “Meet Miss Polly. She’s chubby-cheeked and rosy and so beautiful.”

Christensen first announced she was expecting for the second time in May via Instagram. The actress debuted her bump in a strapless red dressed prepping for an event. “ALL ABOUT THE ANGLE,” she captioned the post. She also shared an Instagram story of her precious 2-year-old daughter Shane sporting sunglasses and a t-shirt that read, “big sister.”
The Wicked City alum also admitted she wasn’t feeling as good during her second pregnancy and revealed she was “very nauseous” the first trimester. “I also haven’t challenged myself particularly. Last time, I did a lot of big adventurous hikes and things, and I think I ought to get back into that. I think I was a little fitter the last time.”
