All eyes were on the worldwide introduction of the newest royal baby to join the family on Monday. But 2-year-old Princess Charlotte was the one that stole the hearts of the people.
Joining her big brother George the two were escorted by their father Prince William up the stairs of St Mary’s Hospital at the Lindo Wing to meet their new sibling.
New father of three William, 35, picked up his two older tikes from their residence and brought the children back to the hospital to meet their new little brother for the first time. The excited brother-sister team walked hand in hand with their papa in front of the crowd of spectators standing out front of the hospital.
Big brother twice over George, 4, was still dressed in his school uniform from earlier in the day while Charlotte wore a blue floral frock with a white collar detail. The Princess wore a navy cardigan over her dress to keep warm from the Spring chill along with white socks and black mary jane style shoes. The adorable tot had her hair styled half up with the top part tied neatly with a matching blue bow.
But it was Princess Charlotte that wowed the crowd while walking into the hospital with her big brother and father. The confident little girl seemed right at home with all the attention focused on her. The Princess looked back and waved at the crowd, winning the world over while George seemed more reserved shying away from all the attention.
William and Kate have spoken about their spry little girl over the past year. Charlotte is growing up and as she flourishes into a young girl so has her personality.
William had said while visiting patients at the Aintree University Hospital back in September 2017 that his little girl Charlotte was becoming the leader of the pack. “George has been really easy. He rules the roost, but Charlotte’s not far behind.”
He spoke of her to another patient saying, “She’s going to be trouble when she gets older. All fathers say that to me…watch out for the little girls.”
The Duchess, 36, had revealed to a fellow mother last year at an unveiling that, “Charlotte is growing up really fast. She is the one in charge.”

It always a concern when a family adds another child to the mix and how the sibling dynamic will change and that is no different for the royal family. Chartered Psychologist Dr. Sarah Kuppen commented on how the relationships between siblings can possibly shift but it ultimately depends on the child’s individual temperament.
“For George and Charlotte, the introduction of a new member of the family will necessarily involve a period of adjustment. Often new babies can cause a lot of excitement, which means attention can shift away from older siblings.”
It seems that Princess Charlotte can hold her own from what the world witnessed on Monday. And if her confident little self is any inclination of her personality as she grows up this little princess is destined to do great things for her country and the world.
