This is why I love Soma. He and Megumi are supposed to solve this serious mystery yet he is acting like he is on vacation. I love that Megumi has to try to reign him in. Like on page 6 he was like" they probably have a reason for closing right? Let's go look at those hot spring buns". I love those comedic moments mixed in with this serious mystery that is unraveling.

Of course, as Megumi and Souma ask people in the town about the bathhouse no one knows anything. They all claim that the owners seemed normal. They didn't notice anything weird. They seemed genuine when giving their answers. But they could also just be playing dumb. Some local bathhouse owners claimed they got some of Windvane's customers because they closed down. So that could mean they are in on it. But Soma hit the nail right on the head. The fact that they didn't mention their closing to their regulars means that this wasn't a peaceful closing. 

Of course, this was my favorite part of the chapter Megumi and Soma sharing a room. Now notice how relaxed they both were around each other. It was like they shared many rooms together. If he had shared this room with Erina it would have been like walking on eggshells. They would have been bickering the whole time. 

That's why I don't ship them at all. Souma can rely on Megumi in a way that he can't with Erina. Souma can be himself around Megumi. He can laugh, make jokes, be lazy, and Megumi doesn't judge him for it. She doesn't make him feel like he always has to be on his best behavior. Sharing a room together felt like they were married for 10 years. The one Soma wants at his side all the time is Megumi. You can see it in this chapter just based on how he acts around her.

Megumi is so relaxed around him too that she forgot they were sharing a room. I love how freaked out she gets over it. Soma is just chilling watching TV like it's no big deal. I think the fact that she is starting to get nervous when they are alone together proves that she is becoming aware of her feelings. You wouldn't get all flustered like that if you didn't.

I think the biggest twist to this whole mystery was at the very end. The panel where we see a guy laying in a pool of his own blood. So someone is murdering the hotel owners so he can take their property. But that makes no sense. Who would do that and why? Why not just buy the hotels? Just because you killed the owner doesn't make the hotel yours.
