Movie director James Gunn, best known for his work on the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, has revealed that moviegoers should overcome nerves and attend the cinema alone.
Going to the Cinema solo is one of those things many have mixed feelings about. We can shop alone and go to the gym, but for many there is something odd about the act of going to the cinema alone, a subject which huge Movie director James Gunn recently addressed through his Twitter account, stating that he’s been attending the movies solo since the age of 12, and he urges that there is nothing wrong or odd in doing it.
After research, I found that the main reason people refuse to go to the cinema alone is because they think it is a social event, and by going solo, they assume that there will be much finger pointing, with people assuming you have no friends. In reality… nobody cares!

There are benefits to going with friends of course, but the likelihood that people will notice if you go alone is very low. Also, going alone means you can see what you want, sit where you want and relax without having that one person who asks what’s going on every five minutes…
So, in the topic of seeing a movie alone, James Gunn said: “I started going to movies by myself at the age of 12. I was ashamed & lived in fear of being seen & judged by other kids who knew me – something that took me years to let go of. But to this day it’s one of my favorite ways to see a film.”
