Miss Earth 2017 airs live across 4 continents

Miss Earth 2017 is poised to topping last year’s edition as the biggest ever for the Philippine-based pageant. The 2017 edition of Miss Earth will be broadcast live across the globe, with several new additions to the roster of broadcast networks airing the pageant.

Miss Earth has been aired in ABS-CBN for more than a decade now. ABS-CBN Corporation is the largest multi-media conglomerate in the Philippines. The company owns the largest and most-watched broadcast network, ABS-CBN, the oldest English news channel ANC, the largest local film producer Star Cinema, and the leading network radio stations across the archipelago.

With the ABS-CBN broadcast, Miss Earth is in the league of Miss Universe, which is the only other international beauty pageant being aired on the network. Miss World is being broadcast in the no. 2 network, by the way.

Since 2012, Miss Earth is also being streamed live by Rappler, a fast-growing online social news site based in the Philippines, with a news bureau in Jakarta, Indonesia. The live stream allowed fans to watch Miss Earth live online since ABS-CBN airs the delayed telecast and another network airs the live television broadcast.

FOX Life is also another network that has continuously aired Miss Earth for years. FOX Life is formerly Star World, which is rebranded to be more in tune to the FOX networks of entertainment brands. FOX Life has been the brand which is aired across Latin America. With the rebranding of Star World, FOX Life will also now be the brand that covers Asia.

With FOX Life, Miss Earth will be live across Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Miss Earth 2017 will also be broadcast this year in Angola and Mozambique, Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa. ZAP TV, a digital satellite television provider mainly for Portuguese-speaking countries in sub-Saharan Africa, will air the pageant live. ZAP TV’s Portuguese-language channels account for more than 40 million people in Africa.

The international environmental event is also breaking new grounds in Latin America. Miss Earth 2017 will be aired across North America via MVS Comunicaciones, a Mexican media conglomerate that owns MASTV and MVS Radio. The channel is also available in Dish Channel in the United States and Canada. MVS will beam Miss Earth to its approximately 13 million viewers, providing another media mileage for the 17-year old pageant.

Airing Miss Earth across South America is the Venezuelan broadcaster Globovision. Aside from Venezuela, Globovision can also be seen in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Curacao.
