Wonder Woman Spoiler Free Movie Review

Tags: movie woman

This is one of the movies I'm really excited about to watch this summer, even though the previous recent DC movies aren't so great. When I watched the trailers and teasers for Wonder Woman, it seemed promising, and after finally watching the actual Movie, I'm glad that it kept its promise.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot as Diana/ Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins did an awesome job making this movie - the fight scenes are very satisfying, but this movie isn't all just mindless fighting. There are several moments in this movie so beautiful and serene, and it gives the characters time to grow and the audience time to breathe. Diana's love interest, Steve Trevor, is played by Chris Pine. The best thing about Steve is that he isn't just some weak guy that Diana has to save all the time. He has wonderful things to give to her, and her to him. It's like these two characters grow together to be better people and better heroes as their relationship goes on.

Wonder Woman has been identified as either a feminist icon or a feminist failure, but I don't think that this is the case with this movie. This movie is equal, it doesn't promote that women is better at everything, or that men are terrible. One of the villains is a woman, but Diana's loyal allies are men. I think that one of the things we can learn from this movie is that genders don't define whether you're a good person or not, it is what you choose to do that defines you.

Wonder Woman is also the first DC movie I've seen lately with lots of color. It utilizes color to create very stylish and captivating scenes.

I guess the only less satisfying thing about this movie is the villains. There are three villains in this movie and I don't think any of them is a match for the protagonist. They're bad people, but they're not great ones.

All in all, Wonder Woman is a movie full of hope, stylish action, and valuable lessons. The villains could be better, but the good things about this movie made it highly enjoyable. I'm giving Wonder Woman a 9 out of 10.
