Loews Royal Pacific Resort Review Universal Orlando

Loews Royal Pacific Resort opened in June 2002 and contains 1000 guest rooms. A complete room renovation program was completed in 2016.  There are three categories of Universal Resorts; premier hotels, preferred hotels and prime value hotels. Loews Royal Pacific Resort is in the middle preferred hotel class. We would consider it being similar in standard to the lower end Disney World Deluxe Resorts.

We have stayed in Loews Royal Pacific on 2 occasions the latest being July 2017. The video below is a Resort Tour from our July 2017 stay. We have found the resort very welcoming and comfortable. Bedrooms are a high standard but do not include a batch but a large walk-in shower.

The big attraction of staying at Loews Royal Pacific Resort is the included Universal Express Pass. There are plenty of arguments over why Universal should not charge for their Fastpass System like Disney but during busy periods an Express pass is essential.

Universal Express Passes are not cheap and can work out as much as $170 a day. Rooms at Loews Royal Pacific can fit up to 5 and staying the night at Royal Pacific can often work out a cheaper option than buying Express Passes.

Loews Royal Pacific Lobby

Only guests staying at Portofino Bay, Hard Rock & Royal Pacific receive a complimentary Express Pass. Guests staying at other resorts need to buy as a vacation extra.

Hotel highlights include:

  • 1,000 guest rooms, including 51 luxury suites.
  • Jurassic Park themed suites
  • Lagoon-style swimming pool and beach
  • Kids’ play area
  • 6 restaurants and lounges
  • 5,000-square-foot fitness center
  • 85,000 square feet of meeting & function space

The resort lobby is very impressive and the Polynesia theme is well executed. The resort swimming pool is one of the best in Orlando. Although there are plenty of dining options this is an area Disney does do better.

In addition there is a Club Level upgrade which guests receive added benefits. Benefits include evening turn-down service, access to club lounge, concierge service, continental breakfast & complimentary drinks and snacks.

In addition all guests staying at Universal Orlando Resorts receive complimentary water taxis or shuttle buses that take you directly to parks plus early park admission to the Wizarding World Harry Potter & Volcano Bay.

In our opinion Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a great option when visiting Universal Orlando.
