Emiratis can now get Indian e-tourist visas

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced on Thursday that UAE citizens, whose sole purpose for visiting India is tourism, can benefit from the E-Tourist Visa scheme (eTV).

Emiratis can apply online for eTV which shall be granted through email. The applicants should carry a print of this email and can travel to India through 16 designated international airports (Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi).

UAE applicants planning to travel to India for the purposes of treatment and study cannot benefit from this scheme. Instead, they should submit their applications to the Indian Embassy or the Indian Consulate in the UAE, or contact one of the visa offices approved by the Indian embassy in the country.
