Huntington beach couple were flying with two young kids

The Daily Mail wrote about a sad and seemingly all too common airline episode of a family being rudely booted from a Delta flight from Maui to Los Angeles April 23, 2017. The Schears of Huntington Beach, California, said they were returning from Maui, Hawaii with their two-year-old son and one-year-old daughter on April 23. They wanted to put one of the children in a seat they had bought for their 18-year-old son, who instead flew home on an earlier flight. However Delta doesn't allow tickets to be transferred. The airline told the couple that the kid would have to sit on one of his parents' knees. They weren't happy about that and let that be known and were consequently booted from the plane according to the Daily Mail and other on line sources. They had to overnight in a hotel. Mysteriously the dad said he saw standbys getting on the flight to take the now deserted seats suggesting Delta once again over sold the flight.
To add insult to injury the couple was allegedly told that they could be thrown in jail and be separated from their children if they didn't comply. A bit harsh, you might say, although United's dragging a doctor off a flight and causing him much harm might seem worse, up to you to decide. Delta did apologize and refunded their fare. But it may not be over yet. United has paid off Dr. Dao with an secret amount since dragging him kicking and screaming during that much publicized event shown on video through the world.
The skies just ain't as friendly as they once were.
