Snow in Le Vesinet and Saint Germain en Laye

The incredulous winter of 2018 marches on and on Sunday night we received a fresh coat of Snow. In the 13 years I ’ve lived here there’s never been snow after February, so it was a surprise visit from the snow gods.

I was staying with a friend in Le Vesinet, a swanky suburb of Paris, much like Scarsdale in New York.

When it started to snow Sunday night, I wasn’t sure it was going to stick. When I woke up Monday morning a picture postcard winter landscape awaited me out my window.

Snow days when I was a kid meant playing in the snow, throwing snowballs, making snowmen and sledding. Nowadays I’ve traded in snowballs and snowmen for a mirror-less camera.

There are many stunning mansions in Le Vesinet with manicured gardens. I loved taking photos of the ornate iron entrance gates covered in snow. There was also a lovely park with a trail along a gentle stream.

After my morning photo stint on Le Vesinet, I went to Saint Germain en Laye, the next town over. I shot photos in the formal gardens accompanying Chateau de Saint Germain en Laye.
