Today starts my annual foray into the holiday windows, displays, lights and festivities all over Paris. I’ll be publishing posts all this week and next.
Every year Printemps has a celebrity or movie star kick off the launch of the holiday windows. This year was a major coup, having Nicole Kidman inaugurate the windows on November 7.
The theme this year is traveling with Jules and Violette, two children searching the world for the best gifts. They globe trot in style in boats, trains, planes, and sleds.
The design of the windows has been entrusted to Spiros Halaris, a Greek illustrator, who has created 11 windows with 70 puppets.
Inside the store there are 160 festively decorated trees. My favorite was the one in between the first floor and second-floor escalator, with purple and cobalt blue with the Fendi holiday monster with pink hair and wild sunglasses.

Centrally located in the heart of the Marais near the St. Paul metro station, it's a spacious one-bedroom 750 sq. ft. loft style apartment with 12 ft. ceilings, decorated in chic Mid-Century Modern furniture and sleeps one or two people in a Queen size bed. Amenities include A/C, washer/dryer, 16" flat screen TV, dishwasher, internet connection/Wifi and free long distance calls to the U.S. The apartment is located on the second floor with an elevator.
