AIA Insurance are offering 3x Airpoints Dollars on the premiums paid on a range of insurance policies until the 31 October 2018.

Existing customers are eligible to take part in this promotion, though not on existing policies- e.g. offer is on new policies only.

You will earn 3 Airpoints Dollars for every $100 of premium paid to AIA during the Promotion Period, excluding any levies, taxes or fees.

Earning Airpoints Dollars with AIA Insurance

AIA offer a range of life, health and income insurances for individuals and businesses.

There are 39 AIA Insurance products that you can earn Airpoints Dollars on, the full list can be found here. It may have been easier for AIA to list those products that you cannot earn Airpoints on!

Our commentary is around the ability to earn Airpoints Dollars on their products. It is not easy to make general comments on whether AIA Insurance have good insurance policies, so that’s not an area we’ll be touching on.

How do I earn?

New and existing customers can register their Airpoints membership number with AIA by:

• including it on the application form when you apply for one of their policies; or
• calling them on 0800 800 242 to add to an existing policy; or
• providing it to your insurance adviser to register on your behalf.

How much will I earn?

AIA Insurance will give you 1 Airpoints Dollar, or part thereof, for every $100 of premium paid, not including levies, taxes, and fees.

This is an effective 1% return on the cost of your premium, on the basis of 1 Airpoints Dollar being equal to $1 NZD when put towards flights with Air New Zealand.

Your Airpoints earn should hit your account within 30 days of your bills being paid.

Summing up

Obviously with something as important as insurance, you shouldn’t consider selecting an insurer or changing to a new one just for a few Airpoints Dollars – the coverage needs to be right for you.

However, if you were already thinking of subscribing to an AIA Insurance policy, or you’re an existing policyholder, it’s a no-brainer that you should earn Airpoints Dollars on your policy spend.

AIA accept Visa and Mastercard with no transaction fees, which provides a good opportunity to double dip and earn points through card spend too.
