Event Highlight: Restaurant Week in New Orleans

In New Orleans, food provides far more than just nourishment and nutrients. Restaurant Week will be September 10-16, so out-of-town guests will want to book their New Orleans experience as early as possible. What to Expect

Diners will find deals from more than 100 restaurants in the area, including steakhouses, sports bars, casual markets and cafes, sushi bars, taverns and distilleries, and dessert cafes. A few of the many participating joints include:

• Commander’s Place, a Cajun and Creole restaurant located in the Uptown/Garden District and a favorite of tourists and locals alike. (Don’t know the difference between Cajun and Creole cooking? Find out!)
• Brennan’s Restaurant, a traditional spot for upscale French and Creole food in the French Quarter. Try the Bananas Foster!
• Shaya, a newer Uptown spot featuring Israeli cuisine with a Southern twist.
• Seed, which offers vegan spins on Louisiana comfort-food classics in the Garden District/Uptown area. Try the Southern Fried Poboy!

Each restaurant will offer its own special fixed-price menu offering some of their tastiest fare with about 25 percent off the regular menu price. Some restaurants will be offering two-course lunches for under $20 and three-course dinner menus for under $40.
