According to Forbes, you can forget the Beaches of Ibiza, Rio or even Australia. These days, the beaches of India are where everything is happening. It is true that India has some incredibly scenic beaches that offer everything from action to solitude, and parts of the course. The best beaches in India can be found on the west coast. Here is where to look.
1. Varkala
Stunningly picturesque Varkala beach is about an hour north of Trivandrum, in Kerala, and provides a relatively peaceful alternative to the now commercialized Kovalam. The setting of this beach is impressive enough to take your breath away, with a long and winding cliff and views that stretch over the Arabian Sea stretch.

2. Gokarna
Gokarna is a small and remote holy town in northern Karnataka, with four of the most secluded and pristine beaches of India located. Both pious pilgrims and hedonistic tourists with equal enthusiasm builds. Go there to get an idea of what Goa was in its heyday, although time is limited as developers are already seeing the potential of this area.

3. Palolem
Picturesque Palolem Beach, surrounded by a thick forest of coconut palms in the far south of Goa, is undoubtedly the most beautiful state beach. This mile long, shady, crescent-shaped beach continues to grow in popularity each year and has become very lively with the diverse crowd it attracts.

4. Baga
Of course, Baga Beach in North Goa may be touristy and crowded but for those who like action, is one of the most happening beaches on the coast. Water sports, parasailing, dolphin tours, beach bars, pubs, clubs and fine restaurants -'ll find everything there!

5. Marari
Little known Marari Beach, not far from Alleppey in Kerala, is perfect for those people exploring the Kerala backwaters who feel like the time on the beach. This beach is relatively quiet and undeveloped. A big drawcard there is earth conscious Marari Beach Resort.

6. Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram)
Do you want to enjoy the beach atmosphere, but can not reach the west coast of India? Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram or as otherwise called), about an hour south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, is the selection of the beaches of the east coast. The city is full of sculptures and interesting rock temples, including the Temple of windswept beach right at the water's edge. There is also a thriving backpacker scene.
