Hike somewhere epic
Hiking is a fantastic way to see the sights of a country from a different perspective. There are so many amazing places to hike, from Galicia’s Costa da Morte, (the “Coast of Death”) where you end at Cape Finisterre, thought to be the end of the world, to Snow Hill Island in the Antarctic, which is home to thousands of the world’s largest penguins and their tiny little chicks!
Don’t worry if you’re not a seasoned hiker. Everyone has to start somewhere, so even a small walk can be a great adventure if you do it right.
Go on a safari
Few things will get your adrenaline pumping quite as much as seeing a lion chase down his prey right in front of you. A safari is a once in a lifetime experience to see wild animals up close.
Whether you go looking for the Big Five (African elephant, rhinoceros, lion, leopard and the Cape buffalo) on the back of a jeep, or track the Great Migration (featuring over a million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle migrating) in a hot air balloon, it’s something you will always remember.

Explore the sky
Perhaps someday we’ll be able to explore space on our holidays, but for now, there are ways to appreciate it as it is. The world’s largest coral reef system can be found in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, which is literally swimming with colorful plants, amazing predators and playful fish. Keep your eyes peeled for sharks too!
