Explore Niagara Falls State Park:

The Niagara Falls is located in this state park, which is open 24 hours a day all year round. The park is sometimes closed during the winter months due to icy conditions. Entry into the park itself is free, though some of the attractions inside the park are ticketed.

All the main attractions are accessible from within the park. Some of the places/things to experience in the park are:

Falls illumination:

Every evening beginning at dusk and ending at midnight, Niagara Falls is illuminated in beautiful colors by LED lights located on the Canadian side.  You can take a late night stroll in Niagara Falls State Park in the summer and enjoy the light show, which continues till 2:00 a.m. in the summer months.

If you have time, you should definitely try out the jet boat rides on the Niagara River.  Travel through the Niagara Gorge and over the whitewater rapids at Devil’s Hole and into the Niagara Whirlpool.  You will be completely drenched by the open jet boat ride and will need a change of clothes.  There is also a closed dome jet boat ride in which passengers remain dry.

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino:

You can stay at the Seneca Niagara Resort while in Niagara Falls, USA.  The casino has many games; you can try the slot machines or the table games.  The resort also has many restaurants and cuisine options.  It is a great place to spend a weekend.

Helicopter tour of Niagara Falls:

This 15-minute helicopter ride over the Niagara Falls will be the highlight of your Niagara Falls stay.  The vistas of the Niagara wine region, Niagara River and Niagara Gorge are a beautiful sight.  Passengers are flown over the Niagara Falls and the view does not disappoint.

Oakwood Cemetery:

If you are interested in history and monuments from the early 19th century, you should definitely visit the lovely Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY.  Some of the daredevils who attempted going over the Niagara Falls are buried here.  It is a lovely cemetery with beautiful gardens, trees and endearing monuments to the deceased.

Old Fort Niagara:

This restored 18th century fort near Youngstown is one of the most scenic places.  Located at the mouth of the Niagara River on Lake Ontario, it was originally built by the French.  There are hourly musket demonstrations every day and you can learn about garrison life in the 18th and 19th centuries.  There are also battle reenactments, military music, artillery and Native American demonstrations on some days.

Some of the other places that you could visit in Niagara Falls, New York, are Hyde Park, Niagara Aerospace Museum, Whirlpool State Park, Devil’s Hole State Park, and Artpark.
