The Oscars is also known as The Academy Awards. It is a set of 24 awards for the artistic and technical merit in the American film industry, given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a golden statuette, officially called the Academy Award of Merit and which is commonly known by its nickname Oscar. The awards were first presented in 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The 90th Academy Awards ceremony was held on March 4, 2018 at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
