The Fountain Coffee Room is located at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and walking inside feels like stepping back in time. First Friday at Abbot Kinney is a must-see for all foodies. On the first Friday of every month, LA’s best food trucks gather on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. Not only can you find over 500 flavors here (including obscure creations like rose water), but the owner, John F. Nese, is extremely knowledgeable on matters of soda flavors. Stock up on some sweet souvenirs to take home.

Tour the city’s coolest cathedral

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels opened in 2002, designed to replace the Cathedral of Saint Vibiana, which was severely damaged in the 1994 earthquake. The building stands as a monument to Saint Vibiana, a third-century Roman martyr and patron saint of Los Angeles. Not much is known about Vibiana herself, as her body was laid to rest with only a vial of blood, a laurel wreath, and a tablet.
