Darwin, NT
The capital of the Northern Territory, Darwin is the gateway to Kakadu National Park and some of Australia’s best Deep Sea Fishing. There is plenty of things to do in Darwin, but casting a line is a must! Huge tidal rivers, scenic inland billabongs and an exquisitely picturesque coastline all await you!
Best spots to fish: Stokes Hill Wharf, Elizabeth River Bridge, East Point Rocks and Buffalo Creek.
Cairns, QLD
Cairns makes for the most perfect weekend getaway and with so many activities it’ll make you want to extend your trip well into Wednesday. On top of The Great Barrier Reef, epic beaches and beautiful nature, Cairns is home to a whole heap of must try deep sea fishing options.
Best spots to fish: Yorkeys Knob Beach, Machans Beach, Ellis Beach & Holloways Beach.
Hervey Bay, QLD
Aside from its obvious beauty, Hervey Bay is a renowned destination for fishermen and women! Surrounded by islands like Round Island, Woody Island and of course the big one, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay has a lot more to it than just epic fishing!
Best spots to fish: Burrum Heads, Urangan Pier, Platypus Bay, Sandy Strait.
Gippsland, VIC
Gippsland in Victoria is a great wallet-friendly getaway with plenty to see and do. Although we love beach fishing, try the lakes and rivers that make up this awesome destination. There’s plenty here for the whole crew!
Best spots to fish: Lakes Entrance, Lake Tyers, Mitchell River, Nicholson, Metung and Painesville.
South Coast, NSW
We may be a bit biased, but some of the best fishing in New South Wales is done in the state’s South Coast. Full of great spots all within an hour’s drive of each other, there’s not much else to do than pack up your rod and reel and get out on the water!
Best spots to fish: Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin, Lake Canjola, Durras Lake, Batemans Bay, Clyde River, Morouya, Lake Tuross and Bermagui-Wallaga Lake.
